Steel tubular piles were installed adjacent to the Imperial War Museum North to support a quay extension at Salford Quay's. Dynamic Load Testing was used as part of the quality control of the piling works.
Using a PAX8 Pile Driving Analyser (PDA) Pile Analysis carried out a series of visits to the site to test the bearing capacity of the piles. Due to the marine nature of the works use of a wireless connection between the gauges and the PDA was essential.
Testing was carried out as the project piling progressed along the new quay. Sections of piling were released for incorporation into the new structure in a timely manner thanks to the efficiency of Pile Analysis and the test method.
