Reliable and affordable way to test piles and foundation bearing capacity
Dynamic load testing is a non-destructive testing (NDT) method to test the bearing capacity and resistance distribution of piled foundations (both end-bearing and shaft resistance). Dynamic load testing checks the integrity of the foundation, evaluates the shape and any deformation, and measures stresses acting on or within the pile. It also monitors the performance and efficiency of the impact hammer.
Here at Pile Analysis, we have the equipment and expertise to carry out dynamic load testing on the following types of foundation:
Driven piles
Drilled shafts
Continuous flight auger piles
Cast-in-place piles
Micropiles
Helical piles
Bottom-driven steel-case piles
Fast and efficient dynamic load testing service
Here at Pile Analysis, we are geared up to offer a highly efficient dynamic load testing service, often completing several tests in a single day. On some projects we have tested more than 30 piles in a single day.
We realise that most of our clients need rapid results, which is why we have optimised our testing and analysis process, enabling us to issue the dynamic load testing report on the same day, or within 24 hours.
Applying industry best practices for dynamic load testing
Our dedicated pile testing team understand the best practices and guidance related to dynamic load testing and our engineers are regularly retrained to ensure that their knowledge and skills are up to date.
We apply all the relevant engineering standards. On-site dynamic load testing of piles is included in Eurocode 7, ICE Specification for Piling and Embedded Retaining Walls and The Federation of Piling Specialists Technical Guides and is referred to in ASTM D4945 as the “Standard Test Method for High-Strain Dynamic Testing of Piles”.
Cutting-edge equipment and dynamic load testing tools
All the pile testing equipment we use, including our dynamic load testing units, are high-spec and ideally suited for the job in hand.
We use the industry-leading dynamic load testing unit – PDA-8G from Pile Dynamics Inc, which uses wireless connectivity between the instrument and the monitoring device, allowing us to test piles where cable access is restricted or impossible. It also enables the wireless transmission of live test data to an off-site engineer for immediate analysis and reporting.
40 years of dynamic load testing and CAPWAP analysis experience
We have been carrying out dynamic load testing and CAPWAP analysis for more than four decades.
All our engineers and technicians are highly qualified and trained to deliver accurate results and reports. Our on-site testing technicians have NVQ Level 3 in Dynamic Pile Testing and Inspection (Gold Advanced Craft CSCS Card).
Our office-based engineers who are responsible for analysing the test data and writing up reports, have all passed the “Dynamic Measurement and Analysis Proficiency Test” administered by the Pile Driving Contractors Association (PDCA) in partnership with Pile Dynamics Inc.
We have become the go-to pile testing contractors for many big companies and projects, including the New Mersey Crossing for Merseylink CCJV, the New Wear Crossing for Farrans Construction, and Greenport in Hull for Graham Lagan JV.
Our wide-ranging expertise and experience allow us to work confidently on housing, commercial, or industrial building and development projects.
Recent Projects
We have successfully completed hundreds of pile testing projects across the UK and beyond – from major infrastructure projects to industrial and housing developments.
